The FEB UNTIRTA Capital Market Study Group (KSPM) held the second Internal Capital Markets School (SPM) event, on Saturday (15/6/2024), at the Faculty of Economics and Business Building, 4th Floor, Room 413, Sultan Ageng University Campus Tirtayasa, Sindangsari.
This Internal SPM event is one of the annual routine programs held by KSPM FEB UNTIRTA. This year SPM Internal carries the theme "Get Your Knowledge for Investment in Capital Market" which emphasizes the importance of having knowledge before investing in the capital market where various financial instruments such as shares, bonds and mutual funds are traded and it is quite risky if you don't know the basics. .
The event opened with remarks from Muhammad Anshorulloh as Chief Executive of SPM Internal and Muhammad Ariq Rahman as General Chair of KSPM FEB Untirta. Unfortunately at this meeting, Dr. Hj. Iis Ismawati, S.E., M.Sc. as Director of the Untirta Investment Gallery was unable to attend to give his speech.
The FEB UNTIRTA Capital Market Study Group (KSPM) invited the same presenter as the Capital Market School 1 event, namely Mr. Krishna Dwi Setiawan as a representative from PT. Lotus Mainstay Securities. On this occasion, Mr. Krisna presented material on "Technical Analysis". He gave an example if 10 people were given a graph or bar diagram (chart) to analyze the good and bad of a company, there would probably be as many as 10 different analyzes about that company. Types of technical charts such as Candlestick Chart, Bar Chart, and Line Chart.
Technical analysis is also influenced by prices, where sometimes a price must have a pattern in the past which is explained by various existing theories. They (investors with technical understanding) do not always look to buy stock prices that are falling even when prices that are still high are also bought. You could say that technical analysis is momentum analysis and is more inclined towards short-term investment, in contrast to understanding fundamental analysis.
A valid trendline occurs if it connects at least 3 lowest (low) or highest (high) points, has a regular slope, and price movements along the trendline are generally accompanied by significant trading volume. Valid breaking occurs because a trendline break of 3% usually lasts for two days, all based on the closing price (closing base).
There are uptrend lines and downtrend lines which are the basis for understanding technical analysis because they are one way to understand price movements and identify trading opportunities. If a stock price is below an uptrend, it tends not to rise again, and in a downtrend, the opposite happens. When there is a gap on a chart, it means there is a price difference at the opening of the exchange. Other terms such as support occur when there are more buyers than sellers and resistance occurs when there are more sellers than buyers.
After the presentation of the material was complete, the participants at Internal Capital Markets School 2 opened an account to learn about investing directly through the Lotus Andalan Sekuritas application, assisted by Mr. Krisna and also several event committee members. Then the event ended with documentation by the participants and presenters. Hopefully this activity can provide benefits for the participants in understanding more about the capital market and the right way to invest.
