"From Campus to Capital Markets: National Seminar Encourages Students to Increase Literacy and Invest in Mutual Funds"

Sukoharjo, August 24, 2024 – The Capital Markets Study Group (KSPM) Investment Gallery at the AAS Indonesia Institute of Business Technology has successfully hosted a National Seminar titled "Increasing Literacy and Investment Interest Among Students Through Mutual Funds." This event aimed to deepen the understanding of financial planning and mutual funds among new students at the AAS Indonesia Institute of Business Technology. Approximately 172 participants from various faculties attended the seminar. Also present were Dr. Darmanto M.M., Chancellor of ITB AAS Indonesia, Mrs. Yuwita Arriessa Pravasanti, S.E., M.Sc., Director of the ITB AAS Investment Gallery, and Mrs. Iin Emy Prastiwi, SE. Sy., ME., Deputy Director of the Investment Gallery. The seminar took place from 12:30 to 16:30 WIB at Campus Hall 2 of the AAS Indonesia Institute of Business Technology.

During the seminar, participants received valuable insights from two expert speakers in the field of capital markets and investment. The first speaker, Mr. Ari Seta Kurniawan, an Executive Trainer at BEI Central Java Representative Office 2, discussed "Investment in the Indonesian Capital Market." Mr. Ari provided an overview of investment, capital markets, financial instruments, and companies listed on the stock exchange. The second speaker, Mrs. Alifa Ghina Maharani, Head of the Literacy and Inclusion Department, presented on "Financial Literacy Series: Financial Management and Introduction to Mutual Funds for Students." Mrs. Alifa offered practical examples of financial management and introduced mutual funds as a beneficial investment option for beginners.

The seminar aimed to provide early training for students in financial planning to address the ongoing rise in inflation. By participating in this seminar, students are expected to gain a better understanding of the Indonesian capital market and enhance their financial literacy and investment interest, particularly in mutual funds. This knowledge will help them manage their finances more effectively and make wise financial decisions to achieve stability and prosperity.
