On Thursday, June 6, 2024, the Capital Market Study Group (KSPM) of the Investment Gallery at the University of Palangka Raya successfully collaborated with the Indonesia Stock Exchange of Central Kalimantan to conduct the Level 2 Capital Market School educational event. This event focused on technical analysis used in the capital market and was attended by 13 internal members of KSPM GI BEI UPR. The aim of this education was to enhance participants' understanding of the capital market and provide more specific insights into technical analysis. The Level 2 Capital Market School delved deeper into technical analysis, which is a crucial aspect of trading and investing in the capital market. Technical analysis involves evaluating securities by analyzing statistics generated by market activity, such as past prices and volume. The goal of this activity was to equip participants with the skills to identify trading opportunities and make informed decisions based on technical indicators, chart patterns, and statistical measures.
During the event, experienced professionals from the Indonesia Stock Exchange and other industry experts provided comprehensive training on various technical analysis tools and techniques. Topics covered included trend analysis, moving averages, oscillators, and candlestick patterns. Participants learned how to interpret these tools to predict future market movements and develop effective trading strategies. Interactive sessions allowed participants to apply the concepts learned in real-world scenarios, providing a practical learning experience. These sessions included live demonstrations of technical analysis software and platforms, enabling participants to practice charting and analysis techniques under the guidance of experts. This practical approach helped reinforce their understanding and build confidence in using technical analysis in their trading activities.Furthermore, the event emphasized the importance of risk management in technical analysis. Participants were taught how to set stop-loss orders, determine position sizes, and manage their portfolios to minimize potential losses while maximizing profits. Understanding risk management strategies is crucial for successful trading and investment, and the event ensured that participants had a solid grasp of these critical aspects.
The collaboration between KSPM GI BEI UPR and the Indonesia Stock Exchange of Central Kalimantan for the Level 2 Capital Market School marks a significant step in advancing financial education. It reflects a strong commitment to enhancing students' skills and preparing them to navigate the complexities of the capital market. This initiative not only enhances participants' technical analysis abilities but also strengthens the investment community at the University of Palangka Raya.
